Year-Round Housing

Ellison Ballet provides dormitory-style housing to all accepted full day students, conveniently located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan at 850 West End Avenue.

Centrally located in Manhattan’s Upper West Side, 850 West End is a convenient walk to Columbia University, Central Park, Riverside Park, grocery stores – Westside Market & Whole Foods, Duane Reade, Starbucks, and many other great shops.

850 West End is located just off Broadway and is only a few short blocks from the 103rd Street and 96th Street subway stations!  The subway (Local 1 Train and Express 2 & 3 Trains) provides easy access to Times Square, Rockefeller Center, Lincoln Center, The Empire State Building, The Metropolitan Opera, SOHO, Chinatown, Little Italy, Ground Zero and other NYC major attractions; making it an ideal destination for people who love New York City.  

Accepted students can reserve housing upon their enrollment. Detailed information, including an extensive Housing Handbook, is sent to all students who reserve housing in late summer.

Food & Dining:
An Ellison Ballet pantry and refrigerator in the common lounge has been thoughtfully stocked with a variety of healthy snacks and light food options, offered at no cost to students or their families. Our goal is to ensure that all students have convenient access to nourishing options to support their busy schedules.

Additionally, the many incredible restaurants and cafes of NYC, plus grocery stores, delis, and shops are easily accessible near both studios and dorms. Note: Meal plans are not provided.

850 West End

    • Furnished single and double rooms with private en-suite bathrooms

    • Kitchenette combo unit with small refrigerator/freezer, sink, and stove in room

    • Bi-weekly housekeeping provided

    • High-speed internet and cable connection (may bring television if desired)

    • Air conditioning

    • Ellison Ballet chaperones live on-site with students.

    • 24-Hour front lobby reception desk

    • Secure fob key access

    • Common lounge areas with exclusive pantry and refrigerator providing healthy, no-cost snacks for EB students

    • Rooftop deck

    • App-operated (Hercules) self-service laundry

  • Ellison Ballet provides chaperones to supervise and live with the residential students throughout their enrollment in the program. The chaperones are thoroughly vetted and background-checked with an extensive application process.

    Parents will have the opportunity to select the level of supervision their child will receive during the program and while traveling between studios and residence. This option will be included in the housing forms sent to those students who reserve a space in housing upon enrollment.

  • Room Fee - Double Room with Private Bath: $1,850 per student per month
    Room Fee - Single Room with Private Bath: $2,800 per student per month

    ​Room Fees include:

    • Rent for double or single room with private bath

    • Wi-Fi

    • Bi-weekly housekeeping ($50 per month)

    • Utilities (electric, etc.)*

      • ​Up to $50 per month per single room

      • Up to $60 per month per double room​

               *Students are responsible for any overages above these amounts.

    Chaperone Fee (ages 17 & under): $300 per student per month
    Chaperone Fee (ages 18+): $125 per student per month

    Application Fee: $100 per student per year
